"Drawing" an Audience

As if you didn’t already know, there’s a lot of information out there. Of course, your job as a marketer is to keep looking for the latest and most innovative ways to get your message across to the right audience.

You know about Twitter, Facebook, and even trans-media storytelling as new and effective ways of engaging and connecting with your customers. But with so much clutter and noise, is there a better way to keep an audience’s attention?

Perhaps the best way to “draw” people to your brand is through animation. As The Wall Street Journal recently reported, animation is quickly becoming a major player with advertisers and marketers, and for good reason.

Most people loathe advertisements, but love animation. The recent Charles Schwab rotoscope commercials are a perfect example of creating an intriguing pull by giving the audience something they can’t look away from. Be honest, if it were simply someone talking to a camera, would you pay attention to yet another financial services commercial?

Animation, of course, is nothing new, but thanks to computers and sites such as epipheo.com, it’s now more affordable than ever to create fun, informative, and, best of all, memorable video shorts to create.

And it makes perfect sense. In a world where text is quickly loosing its luster and even illustrations are drawing click-throughs, animation is able to keep an audience’s attention rapt.

So, before your customers say “Th-th-th-that’s All, Folks!”, look into animation to add a spark to your marketing.
